Waldir Peres was a Brazilian professional football player who was born on January 2, 1951, in Garça, São Paulo, Brazil and passed away on July 23, 2017, in Mogi Mirim, São Paulo, Brazil. He played as a goalkeeper for various clubs during his career, but the majority of his success came while playing for São Paulo FC, where he won numerous titles including the Campeonato Paulista, the Brasileirão, and the Copa Libertadores. He was also a member of the Brazilian national team that competed in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Throughout his career, he was known for his agility, quick reflexes, and impressive saves. After retiring from professional football, he became a coach and managed several clubs in Brazil and abroad.
